Land Rover Defender: polish & ceramic coating

The project

This Land Rover Defender visited Millennium Detailing for polishing and a ceramic coating. The photographs show the completed car from the front, side and rear, giving a closer look at the finish across its broad body panels.

Polishing and protection have different roles. Polishing refines the existing paint finish; a ceramic coating adds protection to the prepared surface and helps make routine cleaning easier. Pairing them makes sense when an owner wants to improve the appearance of a car and then care for that finish.

Choosing preparation for your Defender

The right polishing approach depends on the paint already on the vehicle. Age alone does not tell us how much refinement is appropriate: previous repairs, existing marks and the owner's expectations all matter. For your own car, we discuss those details before agreeing the work. Some deeper defects may need to remain where further polishing would not be appropriate.

Explore our paint correction service for more about assessing and refining paintwork.

Looking after a ceramic-coated finish

A coating does not replace careful washing or make paint immune to scratches. Use clean wash equipment and compatible products, avoid aggressive scrubbing and dry the car carefully. Follow the first-wash and curing guidance supplied for your particular treatment.

Our safe washing guide explains the habits that help maintain a protected finish. If stone-chip protection is your priority, discuss PPF as a separate option.

Discuss a similar treatment

Send us your Defender's age, paint history if known, photographs and the result you want. We can advise on ceramic coating and preparation at our Stockport workshop. A collection & drop-off service can be provided by arrangement.
